Summary

  • allow agents to provide an mcp_config.failure_error_function so MCP tools can return handled errors instead of aborting
  • wrap MCP tool invocation to call the failure handler and add coverage for the new behaviour
  • document how to configure custom MCP error handling

Testing

  • uv run pytest tests/mcp/test_mcp_util.py
